Replace your media ceramic rings occasionally. Your best bet to keep the beneficial bacteria in your nano cube aquarium or tank is to alternate weeks and replace a different week than you replace other items like carbon and sponges or bio balls.
If you replace all of your media at once, you will lose too much good bacteria!
