It is recommended by lighting manufacturers that you replace your saltwater aquarium bulbs every 6 months.
Why is this important? The blue spectrum called kelvin ( also called K) is diminished after 6 months. Your corals and such need this blue spectrum to flourish. You should see a improvement in your tank after replacements are made.
